You ask an excellent question. My response is that most colleges provide students with the critical analytical skills they need to discern the Truth and make informed decisions. The problem today is getting that education is becoming out of reach for the most. Asimov ("Cult of Ignorance) answers it this way: "I believe that every human being with a physically normal brain can learn a great deal and can be surprisingly intellectual. I believe that what we badly need is social approval of learning and social rewards for learning." Thus, making college affordable for every person should be society's most important goal. And that college education should include a class on agnotology and the dangers of social media. Cheers. Alex
